We’re seeking a VP, Global Creative Excellence, to be based in our Hammersmith, London office. In this role, you will lead and deliver creative excellence for Western Union. This includes defining the output and leading the relationship with our global advertising agency, transforming the creative standards for Western Union as a whole, based on research and measurement initiatives, directing the internal creative operations, and developing processes and training programs to constantly optimize our creative.

  • Develop and execute Western Union’s global creative strategy
  • Lead ideation and optimization of the global creative platform and key assets – delivering excellence in creative standards by developing assets that creates commercial impact and aligns to brand strategy, business priorities, marketing objectives
  • Oversee and act as the single point of accountability for all creative standards across WU corporate, WU GMT, WU Payments and WU XBS BUs and regions
  • Lead internal agency (BBS) creative output – sustainably improving creative standards, quality, consistency and sharing best practice through
    • Implementation of a regular creative review process including scorecards and benchmarking to continuously raise the bar
    • Design and implementation of a Creative Excellence training & development programme
    • Management and improvement of our internal marketing recognition and awards programme called WU Lions
  • Manage all budgets covering global production and agency scope of work on behalf of all regions and BUs to generate efficiencies
  • Drive the research, measurement and evaluation of creative assets for optimization based on results
  • Primary KPIs:
    • Strategic/customer: Digital customer acquisition, business leads
    • Efficiency/effectiveness: Brand consideration / relevance / driver metrics across all BUs
    • Financial: A&P Productivity, budget managed with accuracy and timeliness
What you will need to succeed:
  • Min 15 years agency or client-side marketing experience in a best-in-class creative and digital-led environment
  • Proven creative excellence record (through external and / or internal awards and recognition)
  • Delivering creative / campaign assets to overarching brand strategy and comms plans with proven impact
  • Proven ability to manage external strategic partner relationships effectively and efficiently, including financial governance 
  • Global mindset managing teams and stakeholders across multiple cultures
  • This position leads a team of 62 people under direct leadership

  • Creative appreciation – able to collate and break down & feedback on complex creative ideas in a way that drives better and more effective output

  • Ability to be a company-wide change-agent that influences strategic actions and mindset changes
