Right now, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Product Management – Retail based at Western Union’s Digital Headquarters location in San Francisco, California (near AT&T Park).


In this role, you will be responsible for Global Money Transfer initiatives. Lead Le Bang Portal, Omni Channel, and One platform Programs. Will do product management of in-person transactions at WU locations, our POS transactions, API based (partner integrated) Money Transfer solutions.

  • Generate product ideas that are focused on driving sales, acquiring new customers, retaining existing customers, building brand loyalty, and providing self-service tools to customers.
  • Assess opportunities by identifying ROI, define key performance indicators and partner with analytics team to measure success.
  • Understand product alternatives and work with multi-disciplined team to understand trade-offs and put value on alternatives.
  • Define and document product requirements, features, and functionality Work with UI/UX teams to bring engaging user experiences to life.
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle Act as product owner in agile process.
  • Lead in-house teams using agile scrum methodology drafting business requirements, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with scrum team members to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications.
  • Provide ongoing analysis on product effectiveness using a data driven approach.
  • Coordinate with WU Mobile marketing professionals to leverage relationships, establish best practices for marketing and advertising and collaborate on a unified WU vision in the mobile space.
  • Continuously implement and improve analytics infrastructure to track, monitor, optimize, innovate and report on acquisition and conversion metrics.
  • Work with regional teams to get alignment, report updates and build business cases, solutions etc. Manage a team of product managers and product analysts.

What you will need to succeed: 

  • 10+ years of experience building and launching consumer applications on web mobile and Point of sale (POS) platforms.
  • At least 5 years of product experience in Web/Mobile technologies, and Web/Mobile user experience.
  • Past technical background, with 3+ years in an engineering role is desirable.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in engineering/business or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong experience of agile required.
  • Ability to break down requirements into epics and stories, grooming and elaboration of stories.
  • Ability to negotiate with engineering, UI, UX, Content on the story scope, complexity etc.
  • Strong business writing, numerical analysis and verbal communication skills.
  • Get things done attitude; Self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with matrix teams, and juggle projects across multiple networks and platforms.
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for creating great customer experiences.
  • Ability to break down complex experiences into simple documents, stories, and flows.
  • Experience managing a team of product managers.
  • Experience developing basic wireframes and interaction flows for mobile UI’s.
  • Experience with running focus groups, customer research and usability testing methodologies.
What will make you stand out:
  • PO certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment a plus.
  • Experience in global money movement a plus.
