Right now, we are seeking a Senior Monitoring Analyst, Production Support based at Western Union’s Digital headquarters in San Francisco, California. This person will be monitoring internal and external systems for traffic patterns, predicting user behavior and actions, and assist in technical solutions, within our digital engineering team.

  • Supports the monitoring of the online platform 
  • Operates, monitors and performs basic troubleshooting of applications, middleware, hardware, networks, and data processing/batching; assists with logging and documentation of equipment and processes
  • Coordinate with employees and vendors for the quick resolution of productions incidents
  • Assist in the root cause analysis of customer and site issues using available tools, reports and doing one-off analyses as well as support problem management
  • Collaborate with engineering to drive strategies for reducing number and duration of incidents
  • Assist project teams in release planning & coordination, maintain release calendar, track release timelines, incidents, and conduct retrospections
  • Monitors ongoing practices to ensure consistency with policies, compliance regulations and control requirements.
  • Works with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements.
  • Produce weekly and monthly level reports/dashboards for Problems, Incident, Release & Change Management Liaise between Operations teams and Program Management, Engineering, Business and various other teams and partners as applicable
 

What you will need to succeed: 

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) is preferred
  • 2-5 years of developing online web/mobile sites and responsive sites is required
  • Experience in Splunk required
  • Attention to detail and passion to develop exceptional customer experiences
  • 1+ years of developing mobile web applications across devices is desired
  • Experience designing and building dynamic and flexible web applications for extremely high traffic and transaction volumes desired
  • Understanding of various development methodologies, including:
    • Traditional Waterfall and Iterative Development Methods (Unified Process and Agile)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to triage technical issues, and drive resolution with cross functional teams
  • Great communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills
