Right now, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Product Management - Partnerships based at Western Union’s Digital Headquarters location in San Francisco, California (near AT&T Park).


In this role, you will help WU build and differentiate its online distribution channels and product offering. WU Partnerships team works with a wide range of B2B banking and non-banking partners to power their money transfer business. This team is responsible for enhance WU’s core capabilities to enable easily integration and building custom experiences to our shared customers. You and your team will make sure that Western Union web and mobile app platform is constantly evolving to support and scale partner integrations to delivery best in class user experience to our shared customers.


You bridge the technical and business worlds as you design services that our users love. The ideal Product Manager obsessively seeks to understand the customer’s perspective, is data-driven, has a bias toward action, and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

  • Build partnership platform at WU digital!
  • Build and manage a partner integration platform, which will include integration guides, code snippets, etc.
  • Work with core product and regional teams to offer WU Platform as a hosted service to WU partners.
  • Enhance core WU platform to enable quick partner integrations/deployments
  • Work with sales team to understand partner needs and design solutions to exceed market needs. If required support sales team in negotiating custom deals
  • Be responsible for sales enablement, dev tools, Partner integration tools etc.
  • Monitor partner trends and VOC to inform growth strategies and hypothesis
  • Assess opportunities by identifying ROI and define key performance indicators
  • Manage partnership roadmap. Essentially a list of partner integrations, customizations, tests, and tasks needed to scale WU partner platform
  • Draft business requirements prioritize features, author user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with scrum team members to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications
  • Use customer segmentation, market research, and firsthand customer knowledge to refine plans, specifications, and designs for multiple feature areas/projects
  • Communicate the product strategy and vision in a compelling manner, which helps the team to remain focused on a common goal
  • Provide compelling arguments on behalf of the partner / feature areas that effectively counters executive skepticism or objections
  • Understand product alternatives and work with multi-disciplined team to understand trade-offs and put value on alternatives
  • Work with different stakeholders to bring engaging user experiences to life
  • Manage a team of agile product owners

What you will need to succeed: 

  • We recommend at least 10 years of professional experience
  • A solid experience of B2B product management, building and launching web/mobile/API based platforms
  • Bachelor’s Degree required and a Master's Degree and/or technical certifications are a plus
  • Strong experience of Agile methodology required, including experience managing a team of product managers
  • Strong experience partnering with third-parties to handle integration/solutioning
  • Ability to break down requirements into epics and stories, grooming and elaboration of stories while also able to break down complex experiences into simple documents, stories, and flows
  • Ability to negotiate with engineering, UI, UX, Content on the story scope, complexity etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate business requirements with effective business writing, numerical analysis, and verbal communication
  • Get things done attitude; Self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work seamlessly with matrix teams, and juggle projects across multiple networks and platforms
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for creating great customer experiences

  • Solution consultant, pre-sales role experience
  • Product Owner certification
