We’re seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst – SEC Reporting, based in our Denver, Colorado office (global headquarters). In this position you will be involved in SEC filings on 10k and 10Q forms.  You will be part of a team and own a piece of the process in making sure that filing deadlines are met. You will be part of an eclectic team that is committed to performing at a higher level.

  • Assists in the preparation of certain sections of SEC filings on form 10K and 10Q.
  • Prepare and analyze complex financial data for presenting and supporting disclosures in SEC filings.
  • According to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), prepares various financial statements for SEC and stand-alone regulatory filings.
  • Monitor the month end consolidation of all subsidiaries in accordance with US GAAP and analysis of related accounts during month end close.
  • Analyzes complex balance sheet and income statement accounts in accordance with GAAP and Western Union accounting policies.
  • Works with business partners to analyze and resolve financial reporting issues.
  • Designs and develops ad hoc reporting
  • Participates in the most complex accounting projects, such as system implementations, purchasing accounting etc.
  • Takes a leadership role in initiating and implementing process improvements.
  • Researches complex technical accounting issues and writes technical memos including conclusions on accounting positions.
  • Mentors and assists with training other Accountants and Specialists.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in technical accounting and SEC reporting.
  • Experience working with multiple departments and multiple management levels.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems preferred, preferably Oracle.
  • Advanced system skills, including MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and highly effective planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to influence others and work effectively across geographies and functions in a matrix organization as well as to clearly and concisely present findings at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrated initiative, and exercise judgment in fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and produce quality work while dealing with interruptions.
