The Opportunity: Are you interested in owning and developing new and existing Vertical relationships and revenue? Want to lead and contribute to the development of Western Union Business Solutions Verticals sales and broader Payment organization within the Asia region?


We’re seeking a Senior Business Development Manager, Verticals Sales in our Singapore office. Reporting to the Head of Asia, you’ll be responsible for growing our Asia WUBS Verticals, bringing in new clients and working across existing clients, within specific Verticals, such as pension, payroll, insurance, wealth management, Medical tourism, etc.  This role requires sophisticated B2B sales experience in the Asia market, the ability to speak with large companies with complicated layers who require a strategic payment solution, and a well-orchestrated pitch to bring them onboard.  Working closely with our Singapore FI Sales Director and Head of Sales, this senior level role is highly visible within our organization and offers opportunity for future career growth and development.

  • Enable WUBS Asia to rapidly reach targeted clients with relevant services through a collaborative offering where our product/service is relevant.
  • Identify potential high value opportunities in Region whereby mutually beneficial business objectives can be realised. 
  • Farm a selected number of existing WUBS Asia Vertical clients as well as Hunt for new opportunities from identification to closure.
  • Take the lead on new business proposals as well as the subsequent implementation process.
  • Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting possible clients to discover and explore opportunities.
  • Develop and manage business plans.
  • Engage with C-suite/senior level decision makers, both internally and externally.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities via existing Vertical relationships.
  • Provide regular reporting of pipeline and forecasts to wider organisation.
  • Screen potential business deals by analysing market trends and strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials; evaluating options, resolving internal priorities; and collaborating on deal specifics with senior management.
  • Monitor Vertical performance through meetings with key partners in-line with partner agreements.
  • Develop and rollout strategic initiatives to improve service offering.
  • Analyse and influence the development of our Client engagement through detailed evaluations.
  • Help identify starting points and causes to develop, action improvements and recommendation for action.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 5-7+ plus years of progressive sales experience in the Asia market within a global organisation, preferably within the financial services/fintech space.
  • Successful selling experiences with services or intangible products, into a variety of environments, including organisations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent sales management and strategic networking skills.
  • Proven ability to attract, engage and communication value propositions to C-suite executives.
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills, report writing and presentation skills. Entrepreneurial skills and style.
  • Ability to work within a target driven environment.
  • Able to travel
