Right now, we are seeking a Manger, Project Management Office (PMO) based at Western Union’s Digital Headquarters location in San Francisco, California (near AT&T Park).

 

In this role, as a member of the Digital PMO, you will manage a series of projects related to our Partnership Program through all phases of the project life cycle, with responsibilities that include release and project planning, scope management, status reporting, risk and issue management, and stakeholder communications. The projects will require the coordination of a wide variety of stakeholders from the WU Digital business and Engineering teams, as well as Regional teams across the globe. This job is a high visibility position interacting with WU Businesses worldwide as well as leadership in the organization.

  • Develop, project plan, timelines, track and manage program and project milestones
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues
  • Facilitate identification of timelines, dashboards, success metrics, and financial scorecards for each initiative
  • Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising
  • Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements
  • Lead scrum teams in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
  • Apply your significant experience and strong understanding of Agile process (Scrum Framework, Lean and Scaled Agile Framework) to support our Agile transformation and enable and empower our delivery teams
  • Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
  • Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
  • Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leads and teams to ensure best practice execution
  • Develop and delivery various reports and presentations to steering committees, project sponsors, and other stakeholders.
 

What you will need to succeed: 

 
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • PMP, Agile, SAFE, and/or CSM certifications preferred
  • Minimum 6+ years proven program and project management experience
  • Strong knowledge and 2-3+ years of experience in an Agile development environment  
  • People management, mentoring, and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a fast-changing environment and to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
  • Effective communicator – able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Strong influence skills and ability to collaborate with a wide variety of business and engineering stakeholders
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply risk management practices in managing technical product development initiatives
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment

  • Wrike experience is a plus, Jira & Confluence is highly plus.
  • Financial and Money Transfer domain experience
  • MBA or any masters degree is a plus
