Better requires process, discipline, and simplification

We’ll be looking to you to implement and manage Compliance related to Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS), focussing on international FX payment services for SMEs and corporates, including hedging of FX currency risks with complex financial instruments (FX Forwards / FX Options).

 

You will be motivating and nurturing a European team of MiFID experts via solid and dotted line reporting. Various team members further manage MiFID as well as AML/CFT experts in various regions. This position oversees the Markets Compliance programs for all regional bank branches as well as the European WUBS locations, including employee training, monitoring, developing as well as maintaining of the markets compliance policy framework, business advisory and guidance to ensure a sustainable business growth, support for the introduction of new products and the entry in new markets in line with the regulatory strategy of WUIB.

 

This position also drives the implementation and maintenance of MiFID compliant structures and procedures at Western Union International Bank (WUIB). Additionally, this senior role will be considered to be acting in a Deputy Chief Compliance Officer capacity. For such a significant role, we require a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role (Bank Compliance with specific experience in Markets Compliance and international team management), and a bachelor’s degree in law or business administration. You must exhibit fluency in English (oral and in writing) while knowledge in German is desirable. You must also exhibit proficiency in MS Office programs and relationship management skills. You must also exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentation skills, along with the ability to read, understand and apply complex legal regulations to the Western Union business. We would appreciate your expertise in MiFID-related Compliance subject matters, excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.

 

You must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time, mainly within the European region. You must have the ability to work independently in a structured and analytical way, together with the ability to work in a fast-changing environment with multiple priorities. Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies is also desirable.

We are under legal obligation to indicate the minimum salary, which is EUR 83,034.98 gross per year for this position. However, our attractive compensation packages follow current market salaries and can therefore be significantly above the indicated minimum salary.
