We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support Western Union’s Global Headquarters in Denver, Colorado. In this role you will beaccountable for development and execution of sourcing strategies to reduce total costs in IT and telecom spend portfolio. Drive proposal process and vendor selections. Negotiate business and contract terms.

 

Objective and Responsibilities

·        Drive sourcing activities, category strategy and negotiations for multiple areas of spend within technology spend categories, including IT managed services, technology consulting, system implementation, software license agreements, data center and telecom

·        Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction and risk mitigation strategies as well as implementation plans while maintaining and improving internal client satisfaction

·        Develop category strategies which outline and define the product, market, and supply strategies

·        Work with business unit and function decision makers to decide on sourcing methodologies and strategies, factoring in market conditions and costs

·        Assist BU and function leaders in implementing category strategies

·        Know the supply market and sourcing savings opportunities as they relate to assigned sourcing categories

·        Develop and maintain network across Western Union globally and specifically with all levels of the GoTech (IT) and Service Provider Governance organizations

·        Deliver total cost of ownership reductions, as well as year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels

What you will need to succeed:

·        7+ years of relevant work experience, including experience in procurement / strategic sourcing, negotiation and contract management on large, complex deals

·        Technology category expertise (and research skills to keep current)

·        Experience in global markets with experience in EU, India, and the Philippines preferred

·        Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills

·        Strong influencing/negotiation skills and change management

·        Experience with the ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities

·        BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

·       Prefer 3-5 years leadership experience

·       3 years experience in procurement function
