This position is for Product Manager, Retail Cross Border Solutions (XBS). As a Product Manager for retail, your role will be to understand user needs, translate them into requirements and work with engineering to implement them. You and your team will make sure that Western Union retail platform is evolving consistently across product areas and provide leadership to all product groups on how to develop our product suite’s retail platform to deliver the best user experience to our customers.

 

In this role you will be working closely with other product groups, marketing, regional business teams, customer support teams, legal, compliance and engineering to understand customer expectations and design effective solution to exceed them. You bridge the technical and business worlds as you design services that our users love.

The Product Manager will also assist in the examination of new market opportunities through investigation to identify potential product offerings, strategic alliances, new consumer markets and other opportunities that could drive new growth sources. Product Manager will also assist in building business cases for each new opportunity to clearly outline, prioritize and determine overall revenue potential. Product Manager will also assist in the sizing and scoping of each opportunity identified to determine both the short and long-term opportunities for the organization. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both upstream product and service definition and downstream product development and execution.

 

The ideal Product Manager obsessively seeks to understand the customer’s perspective, is data-driven, has a bias toward action, and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

  • Define product vision and strategy. Monitoring industry trends to inform product strategy. Interact with other internal departments to formulate recommendations and actions
  • Lead a SCRUM team of Engineers, Designers, and Content writers to bring products to market. As product owner author user stories, acceptance criteria and ensure product features are delivered according to specifications and on schedule
  • Oversee and enhance all retail capabilities
  • Oversee and enhance mobile and web analytics capabilities
  • Build and track performance metrics and make enhancements to existing metrics and reports
 

What you will need to succeed: 

 

We are looking for team players who are driven, proactive, passionate about the space, our business and the opportunity, and are effective problem solvers who are able to execute with little supervision.  The ideal candidate has:

 
  • Degree in business or computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of total experience; 3+ years as product owner or similar
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager for a software product (Retail POS, B2B or B2C - cloud experience a plus)
  • Passion for Web technologies, analytics, AB tests, Strong empathy for end customers.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and discuss technical integration scenarios and architectural concepts
  • Experience with agile development processes and frequent product release cycles
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Get things done attitude; Self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for creating great customer experiences
  • Ability to break down complex requirements into simple documents, stories, and flows
