Better requires process discipline and simplification

We’ll be looking to you to Oversees the development, design and execution of the risk-based, AML and consumer fraud global internal audit program.  Provides independent and objective assurance to monitor and evaluate WU’s international system of compliance and operational risks, processes and controls.  Communicates risks identified through audit function as well as functions as a neutral participant in compliance committees and enterprise risk management meetings to identify risks, controls, and recommendations to improve.

 
    

Your responsibilities will include Developing strategic and comprehensive annual audit plan (for Audit Committee review and approval) to ensure most critical areas of the organization are reviewed at appropriate intervals.  Allocates sufficient flexibility in the audit plan to accommodate risk profile changes or respond to urgent events (i.e. ethics reviews, fraud, cyber intrusion).

Ensures critical elements of regulatory requirements and emerging risk areas are met (AML/BSA, GLBA, Dodd-Frank, Fraud etc.) Creates tools (including advanced data analytics), materials, processes and reporting to effectively administer audits across functions and business lines of the organization.

Ensures appropriate follow up and monitoring to verify that required remediation efforts are completed. Interacts professionally and frequently with external auditors, regulators, compliance agencies/contractors, legal counsel, court appointed parties etc. Creates a collaborative working relationship with all outside constituents.

 

For such a pivotal role, you’ll ideally have

12+ years of progressive growth and management level roles in a global company within financial services/banking sector.

10+ years in compliance or audit/related of a multi-national company.

Proven experience presenting to and communicating with Boards and executive management.

Demonstrated track record of risk mitigation, attention to detail, sound business judgement, and pragmatic thinking.
