We’re seeking a Compliance Officer, Anti-Money Laundering, based in Guadalajara, Guanajuato or another location within the Bajio region, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling Agent Oversight controls in the Mexico market. Also, you will be conducting onsite/offsite Program Review Controls, including pre-work analysis, agent contact, case management consolidation, remediation follow-up and training under the guidance of the local compliance management. In addition, you will be expected to have an AML Compliance and Risk Control mindset, as well as strong skills to manage agent relationships.

  • Conduct on and offsite Agent Program Reviews on assigned Authorized Delegates along the Mexican country
  • Evaluate, train and test internal controls and anti-money laundering compliance programs for agents through transaction analysis, compliance reviews and training sessions
  • Identify and escalate possible violations identified through Program Reviews while enforcing the proper countermeasures to mitigate the risk
  • Follow Up on remediation actions with Authorized Delegates on a timely manner
  • Engage with other Western Union departments as required
What you will need to succeed (Requirements):

  •  1+ years’ experience in AML Compliance
  • 3+ years’ experience in Financial Sector
  • Advanced computer database and Microsoft Office software skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of current regulations affecting MSBs
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Fluent in Spanish and English - C1 (80%) minimum
