Right now, we are seeking an Assistant Manager, Customer Analytics based at Western Union’s Global Headquarters in Englewood, Colorado location.


In this role, you will be a major force in creating a data-driven outcome to inform business decisions or drive strategic insights at Western Union. You will be an independent, consultative partner with non-technical stakeholders.  Be prepared to present deep analysis held against the highest standards in a variety of projects within our shared services team.  Ultimately, you will frame the analysis, build your data set, apply analytical techniques to develop actionable business conclusions, and present on your findings.

  • Frame and structure analysis with a rigorous, high standard of professionalism
  • Gather requisite data by querying large scale relational databases, including Oracle, Netezza, Hive and potentially others as new technologies are adopted by WU
  • Manage offshore resources around the globe to perform additional data querying tasks as required.
  • Manipulate the data using advanced analytic techniques, especially those used in omni-channel customer analytics
  • Analyze and visualize data as appropriate to reach informed conclusions, whether by creating histograms and probability distributions to setting up valid design of experiments to more advanced concepts like estimating demand elasticities, predictive modeling and other statistical techniques.
  • Present your findings and analysis to both junior and senior-level folks in the organization.

What you will need to succeed: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s/Master’s degree related to quantitative analysis or equivalent experience preferred (i.e. Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, etc.);
  • 3-5 years in project management, consulting stakeholders, presenting analytics, and strategic planning preferred
  • Clear communicator, capable of presenting analytic findings to small groups of senior-level business owners is required
  • Must be able to think independently with a problem-solving mindset, operate well with minimal supervision, and make business-impacting recommendations involving pricing, agent network expansion, or other topics
  • Strong experience collaborating closely with business stakeholders, utilizing advanced analytic techniques to generate insights to inform key business decisions recommended
  • Proficiency with Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle, Netezza and Hive with expert command of SQL.   Statistics background with command of SAS / R a plus, as well as the following specific concepts / techniques: price elasticity analysis, consumer demand modeling, CHAID, experimental design (DoE), regression (logistic and OLS), principal component and factor analysis, time series analysis and forecasting preferred.
  • Highly ambitious – seeks accountability in a challenging business environment and thrives on success in the marketplace through innovative problem solving
  • Prior professional experience in Financial Services / Banking field a plus
